Does your child display inattentiveness, restlessness and hyperactive behaviour? Or perhaps your child has been diagnosed with ADHD and inattentive ADHD medication has been suggested?
Children with these difficulties have probably been getting in trouble at school, may have been labelled a “naughty kid”, and in some cases struggle to keep friendships. Underneath all of this, the child can’t help their need for sensory stimulation, or their need to be moving around, or their inability to concentrate on a task. Other behaviours we may see in relation are anger outbursts or rages, sadness, or attention seeking behaviours.
Homeopathy for ADHD does not treat the diagnosis, instead homeopathy always looks at the individual and how their ‘diagnosis’ presents in this person. For example, one child may be restless, hot and angry, but be soothed by fast paced music. Another child may be restless, cold and constantly repeating movements, but be soothed by stories or audiobooks. Both of these children may fall under the ADHD diagnosis, but their symptoms and how they play out their disorder can be very different. Homeopathy for ADHD addresses these differences. It is not a one size fits all treatment plan that addresses all hyperactive behaviour.
Conventional treatment involves stimulant inattentive ADHD medications such as Ritalin and sometimes anti-anxiety or sedatives are also prescribed. Other therapies such as occupational therapy are also helpful; however, some inattentive ADHD remedies and treatment methods don’t address the cause which could be related to:
A Swiss ADD/ADHD double blind study conducted by Heiner Frei showed that homeopathy for ADHD is effective in handling hyperactive child behaviour.
Another study was conducted by Philippa Fibert and followed 20 children with a diagnosis of ADHD. It found that children who continued homeopathy ADHD treatment for 1 year or more improved more than children that only received conventional care.
Treating the whole person requires getting to understand the child, and considers:
Sarah takes a full case history of the child as well as the preconception, pregnancy, and post birth health status of the mother. From here, a treatment plan will be recommended, including homeopathic inattentive ADHD remedies, dietary, supplement and lifestyle advice.
Sarah may also prescribe testing where appropriate.
